FAQ
-
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ELECTRIFIED VEHICLES?
Lexus offers three types of electrified models: fully electric (also known as a Battery Electric Vehicle, BEV, or simply EV), plug-in hybrid (also known as a PHEV), and hybrid.
-
WHY DRIVE AN ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE?
12 as well as the routine maintenance savings typical of an all-electric powertrain. Of course, an all-electric Lexus is designed to provide owners even more. In addition to the driver-inspired craftsmanship, attention to detail and intuitive technology that have always set Lexus apart, every electrified Lexus is supported by an expansive dealer network that’s world-renowned for its unrivaled care and unparalleled expertise. -
WHAT IS THE ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVING EXPERIENCE LIKE?
Thanks to the use of electric motors instead of internal combustion engines, all-electric vehicles provide smooth acceleration, immediate torque response and a surprisingly quiet ride experience.
-
HOW FAR WILL AN ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLE GO?
The driving range of an all-electric vehicle will vary depending on how/where you drive, charging habits, accessory use, outside temperature and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.
-
WHAT CAN IMPACT DRIVING RANGE?
Gradual acceleration, flat terrain, and even pre-conditioning the temperature of your Lexus while it’s plugged in can potentially have a positive effect on driving range. However, please note that all-electric driving range may decrease significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, charging habits and other factors. Battery capacity also decreases with time and use, which will reduce range.
-
HOW DOES THE WEATHER AFFECT DC FAST CHARGING?
EV DC charging13 times will increase as the battery temperature decreases, with significant increases possible at temperatures below freezing. For example, at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, DC fast charging times can increase by approximately 1.5 to 2 times. Charging times will vary based on various factors including accessory use, battery level and condition, and charger specifications.
-
HOW FREQUENTLY CAN I DC FAST CHARGE?
In order to ensure effective charging and preserve battery health over the life of the vehicle, please plan no more than three DC fast charging13 sessions per day. After three 10%–80% state of charge DC charging sessions, a threshold can be reached, which will result in DC charging speed being significantly reduced. Over time, the battery will gradually recover. One additional high-speed DC charge can be completed after approximately 6 hours, with complete recovery occurring over the next day. During the recovery time, vehicle driving performance and Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging capability remain unchanged.
1 See https://www.driveelectric.gov/stations.
2 A 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet is required for Level 2 charging. Electrical outlets for use with the dual-voltage charging cable must be installed by a licensed, qualified electrician.
3 Lexus is not involved in, nor is it responsible for, the installation of the charger. Lexus cannot guarantee the 48-hour turnaround and one-visit representations from Treehouse. Please visit Treehouse's website for more information.
4 Charging time provided is an estimate and can vary depending on weather conditions and other factors.
5 DC charging time will vary based on weather and other factors. DC charging times will increase as temperatures decrease, with significant increases possible at temperatures below freezing. DC Fast Charging should be limited to three sessions per day, regardless of the weather. After three 10-80% charge sessions, DC Fast Charging over the next day may take longer and be less effective. Accessory use, battery level and condition, and charger specifications also can negatively affect charging times. Use for comparison purposes only. Actual range will vary significantly depending on charging and driving conditions, including outside temperature, speed, accessory use, how/where you drive, battery condition and other factors. See www.fueleconomy.gov and Owner's Manual for details.
6 For Lexus BEVs and access only available for V3 and V4 chargers. 2025 and earlier BEV models require adapter for use.

Requires an active compatible cellular network, a cellular network connection, and GPS signal. Services also require enrollment in Clean Assist account registration through the Lexus app as well as an active Remote Connect trial or subscription and acceptance of Connected Services Terms of Use and Master Data Consent through the Lexus app.
11 Use Remote Connect only if aware of circumstances surrounding vehicle and it is legal and safe to do so (e.g., do not remotely start a gas-engine vehicle in an enclosed space or if vehicle is occupied by a child). Remote Connect services vary and are subject to change at any time without notice. Services require an active compatible cellular network, a cellular network connection, and GPS signal. Without any one or more of these things, operability may be limited or precluded, including access to response center and emergency services. Further, if and when an active compatible cellular network changes or is discontinued, or the underlying technology required to support service becomes obsolete, then Remote Connect will not work, and Lexus will need to be discontinue impacted services. Services also require account registration through the Lexus app and acceptance of Connected Services Terms of Use and Master Data Consent. Digital Key also requires Bluetooth® connectivity. Data charges may apply. For Lexus Interface Services' vehicle-generated data collection, use, sharing and retention practices and agreements, see https://www.lexus.com/privacy.
